These Terms govern your access to and use of the Olapoint platform. By registering an account or using any of our services, you agree to be bound by them. Please read carefully.
01 Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User", "you") and Olapoint ("we", "us", "our"), governing your use of the Olapoint website, web application, and all related VTU services accessible at olapoint.com (the "Platform").
By creating an account, funding your wallet, or performing any transaction on the Platform, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use the Platform.
Effective Date: January 1, 2025. These Terms apply to all users including individual customers, resellers, and API integration partners.
02 Eligibility
To use the Olapoint Platform you must:
Be at least 18 years of age.
Be a resident of or operating within Nigeria, or otherwise legally permitted to use Nigerian VTU services.
Provide accurate, complete, and current information during registration and keep it updated.
Not have been previously suspended or banned from the Platform by Olapoint.
Have the legal capacity to enter into binding contracts under Nigerian law.
We reserve the right to refuse access or terminate accounts where eligibility requirements are not met.
03 Our Services
Olapoint provides the following digital services through the Platform:

Daily, weekly, and monthly data plans including SME data at competitive rates.
Electricity Bill Payment
Prepaid and postpaid token payments for all electricity DISCOs in Nigeria.
Cable TV Subscription
Renewal of DSTV, GOTV, and Startimes subscriptions.
Exam Result Pins
Purchase of WAEC and NECO result checker scratch card PINs.
VTU API
Programmatic access to all services for developers and businesses via REST API.
We reserve the right to add, modify, suspend, or discontinue any service at any time, with or without notice. We will make reasonable efforts to inform users of material changes in advance.
04 Account Registration & Security
To access most features of the Platform you must create an account. You agree to:
Provide truthful and accurate registration information including your legal name, active phone number, and valid email address.
Keep your password and transaction PIN strictly confidential. Do not share them with anyone.
Notify us immediately at support@olapoint.com if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
Accept full responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account, whether or not authorised by you.
Not create more than one personal account. Multiple accounts for the same individual are prohibited unless expressly permitted in writing by Olapoint.
Important: Olapoint will never ask for your password or PIN via email, SMS, phone call, or any other channel. Do not disclose these to anyone claiming to represent us.
05 Wallet & Payments
The Olapoint wallet is a pre-funded digital balance used exclusively to purchase services on the Platform. The following terms govern your wallet:
Funding: Your wallet may be funded via bank transfer, card payment, or other methods made available on the Platform. Funding is subject to processing by our licensed payment partners.
No interest: Wallet balances do not earn interest.
Non-transferable: Wallet funds may not be transferred to another user's account or to external bank accounts, except through our official withdrawal process where available.
Currency: All wallet balances and transactions are denominated in Nigerian Naira (NGN).
Minimum balance: Transactions require sufficient wallet balance to cover the cost of the service at the time of the request.
Failed transactions: If a transaction fails after funds have been deducted, the amount will be automatically reversed to your wallet within the timeframe stated in Section 7.
Dormant accounts: Accounts with no activity for 12 consecutive months may be flagged as dormant. We will notify you before taking any action on dormant account balances.
06 Pricing & Fees
Service prices are displayed on the Platform at the time of each transaction. By confirming a transaction you agree to pay the amount shown.
Prices are subject to change at any time without prior notice, in line with rates set by network providers and service operators.
Olapoint charges no hidden fees. The price displayed is the price deducted from your wallet.
Wallet funding may be subject to processing fees charged by our payment partners, which will be displayed before you confirm the funding.
Reseller pricing tiers are governed by separate reseller agreements and may differ from standard published rates.
07 Refunds & Failed Transactions
We process millions of transactions and strive for 100% delivery. However, failures can occur due to network provider downtime or other technical issues beyond our control.
Automatic reversal: If a transaction fails after your wallet is debited, funds are automatically reversed to your Olapoint wallet within 5–15 minutes. In exceptional cases this may take up to 24 hours.
Disputed transactions: If you believe a transaction was incorrectly processed, contact our support team within 7 days of the transaction date with your transaction reference number.
No cash refunds: Reversals are credited back to your Olapoint wallet only — not to your bank account or payment card — unless otherwise determined after investigation.
Correctly delivered transactions: Successfully delivered airtime, data, electricity tokens, or subscription renewals are non-refundable once confirmed by the service provider.
Duplicate transactions: If you accidentally make a duplicate purchase, contact us immediately. Reversal is at our discretion and subject to provider policies.
To dispute a transaction, email support@olapoint.com with your transaction ID, date, amount, and a description of the issue.
08 Acceptable Use
You may use the Platform only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. The following are strictly prohibited:
Using the Platform for any fraudulent, deceptive, or illegal purpose under Nigerian law.
Purchasing airtime, data, or other services using stolen, fraudulently obtained, or unauthorised payment instruments.
Attempting to manipulate, reverse-engineer, hack, or disrupt the Platform or its underlying infrastructure.
Using automated scripts, bots, or tools to scrape data, generate fake transactions, or abuse the Platform.
Reselling services at exploitative rates or operating a reseller business without prior written approval from Olapoint.
Impersonating Olapoint, our staff, or any other user.
Circumventing security measures, rate limits, or access controls on the Platform.
Using the Platform to launder money or finance illegal activities.
Creating multiple accounts to exploit promotions, bonuses, or referral programmes.
Sharing your account credentials with third parties or allowing others to use your account.
Violation of any of the above may result in immediate account suspension, forfeiture of wallet balance, and referral to relevant Nigerian law enforcement authorities.
09 Reseller Programme
Olapoint offers a reseller programme that allows approved users to purchase services at wholesale rates for resale to their own customers. Resellers are subject to the following additional conditions:
Reseller status must be applied for and approved by Olapoint. Approval is at our sole discretion.
Resellers are independent operators and not agents, employees, or partners of Olapoint. You may not represent yourself as affiliated with Olapoint without our written consent.
Resellers are responsible for their own customer relationships, complaints, and support obligations arising from services they resell.
Resellers must comply with all applicable Nigerian laws, including consumer protection regulations, in their dealings with their customers.
Olapoint reserves the right to revoke reseller status at any time for violation of these Terms or our reseller policies.
Reseller-specific pricing and limits are set out in a separate reseller agreement which forms part of these Terms upon execution.
10 API Access
Access to the Olapoint API is subject to these Terms and any additional API documentation and rate limits published on the Platform. API users agree to:
Use API credentials (API keys) securely and not expose them in public repositories, client-side code, or unsecured environments.
Comply with all rate limits as documented. Abuse of the API may result in immediate key revocation.
Not use the API to build products or services that compete directly with Olapoint without prior written agreement.
Promptly notify us if an API key is compromised or used without authorisation.
Accept that API availability is provided on a best-efforts basis and is not guaranteed to be uninterrupted.
11 Intellectual Property
All content on the Platform — including but not limited to the Olapoint name, logo, design, software, text, graphics, and service architecture — is the exclusive property of Olapoint and is protected by applicable Nigerian and international intellectual property laws.
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use the Platform solely for its intended purpose.
You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works from any part of the Platform without our prior written consent.
Any feedback, suggestions, or ideas you submit to us may be used by Olapoint without restriction or compensation to you.
12 Suspension & Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate your account at our discretion, including but not limited to the following circumstances:
Suspected fraudulent activity, money laundering, or use of the Platform for illegal purposes.
Chargebacks or disputed payment claims filed with our payment processors.
Providing false or misleading information during registration or KYC verification.
Extended account inactivity (12+ months) without wallet balance.
Upon termination, your access to the Platform will be revoked. Wallet balances at the time of termination for accounts closed due to inactivity (not misconduct) will be refunded to a verified Nigerian bank account after identity verification. Balances on accounts closed for violation of these Terms may be forfeited.
The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability.
Olapoint is a reseller and intermediary for services provided by third-party operators (telecom networks, DISCOs, MultiChoice, WAEC, etc.). We are not responsible for delays, errors, or failures caused by these providers.
We do not guarantee that the Platform will be free from errors, viruses, or interruptions. Scheduled and unscheduled maintenance may temporarily affect availability.
To the maximum extent permitted by Nigerian law, Olapoint's total liability to you for any claim arising out of or related to your use of the Platform shall not exceed the value of the specific transaction that gave rise to the claim.
We shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Platform.
Note: Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitations of liability. In such cases, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by applicable Nigerian law.
14 Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any dispute arising from or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Nigeria.
Before initiating formal legal proceedings, you agree to first attempt to resolve any dispute by contacting us at support@olapoint.com. We will make reasonable efforts to resolve disputes amicably within 14 business days of receiving your complaint.
15 Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. When we do, we will:
Update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
Notify you by email if the changes are material.
Display a notice on the Platform for a reasonable period.
Your continued use of the Platform after the effective date of any revised Terms constitutes your acceptance of the changes. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the Platform and may request account closure.
